Connect WordPress and WooCommerce to WPilot so supported site actions can be managed through compatible AI assistants.

== Description ==

WPilot is a connector for WordPress that lets an authorized AI assistant work with supported WordPress and WooCommerce actions through the WPilot service.

Current capabilities include:

* Read basic site, WordPress, PHP and theme information.
* List, create, read and update WordPress pages and posts.
* Restore supported page/post revisions.
* List Media Library items.
* List installed plugins.
* Install plugins from WordPress.org.
* Activate or deactivate installed plugins, with WPilot self-deactivation blocked remotely.
* List WooCommerce products and categories.
* Create and update simple WooCommerce products.
* Update product prices and stock.
* Read WooCommerce order summaries without customer addresses.
* Keep a local history of recent WPilot actions.

WPilot does not require WooCommerce. WooCommerce features are available only when WooCommerce is active.

= External service =

WPilot relies on the WPilot service operated by BF Development at https://api.bfdevelopment.tech. The service is required for remote pairing, OAuth authorization, and routing authorized AI tool requests to your WordPress site.

The plugin contacts the WPilot service only after a WordPress administrator explicitly completes setup and/or starts a connection. Depending on the action, data sent to the service can include:

* Site URL and a random installation identifier.
* WordPress administrator email address when a site is paired, used to associate connected sites.
* WordPress, PHP, theme and plugin information.
* A secure connection credential generated by this plugin. The WPilot service stores the credential encrypted at rest.
* Page/post/product/order-summary data needed to fulfill a user-requested AI action.
* Optional onboarding survey data only when the administrator separately opts in to that survey.

The optional survey is not required to use WPilot.

When WPilot is used through a third-party AI assistant, that provider can also process the content you choose to send through its service under its own terms and privacy policy.

WPilot is an independent product by BF Development. It is not created, supported, certified, or endorsed by OpenAI.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate WPilot.
2. Open WPilot in the WordPress admin menu.
3. Review and accept the WPilot external-service disclosure.
4. Optionally complete the separate product survey.
5. Click **Connect WPilot** to securely pair the site with the WPilot service.
6. Connect the WPilot MCP/app in a compatible AI assistant and authorize access.

During early access, your AI client may require adding the WPilot connector manually. The WPilot MCP endpoint is documented at https://api.bfdevelopment.tech/mcp.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Is the onboarding survey required? =

No. The product survey is optional. It is sent to BF Development only when you explicitly opt in.

= Does WPilot send my whole WordPress database to the service? =

No. WPilot sends connection metadata during pairing and only the WordPress data needed for supported actions that you request through the AI assistant.

= Does WPilot expose WooCommerce customer addresses? =

The current order-listing feature intentionally returns only order number/status, total, currency, payment-method title, item count and creation time. It does not expose customer addresses.

= Can WPilot install plugins? =

Yes. WPilot can install plugins from WordPress.org when an authorized user explicitly asks for that action. WPilot does not install executable code from the WPilot service itself.

= What happens when I uninstall WPilot? =

Uninstalling removes WPilot's local WordPress options and action history. Data already sent to the WPilot service is handled according to the WPilot Privacy Policy. You can request deletion at support@bfdevelopment.tech.

= Is WPilot affiliated with OpenAI? =

No. WPilot is an independent BF Development product and is not endorsed by OpenAI.

== Privacy ==

WPilot adds suggested disclosure text to WordPress's Privacy Policy guide. See the full WPilot Privacy Policy at https://bfdevelopment.tech/wpilot-privacy-policy/.
